Relinquished is a body of work that speaks of loss—the memories, dreams and experiences we leave behind. For a long time now I have been intrigued by dresses—how they are made, their details and design, what they say about us when we put them on, and what they say to us when we take them off.

Some garments have mythic value, and in Relinquished I draw from the iconic dresses of our time—wedding, little black, etc.—to create porcelain and fiber installations that capture the ghost images of some fragment of a woman’s life.

Most of the dresses present as discarded, disembodied—left behind.
